December 2010 - Melford Marine successfully integrates TFT technology with obsolete STN Atlas 9600 Radar System

Melford marine worked closely with Radio Navigation S.A.R.L to create a solution where failed CRT monitors rendered a now obsolete Atlas 9600 radar system completely unusable.

Melford's MRD23" has been externally modified and has had custom firmware added to ensure that the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (I.F.R.E.M.E.R) did not face a costly overhaul of the Radar system on it's 56 metre ship, Le Suroit.

Melford are known for thier ability to help with legacy integration projects and now that there is a current TFT solution for the Atlas 9600 Radar it is expected there are plenty of captains in a similar situation with worn out or broken CRT monitors where this could offer a cost effective and quick fix.
